In a medieval village, a place of art, of peace, rest and serenity
The Hotel SS.ma Annunziata is located in the historic center of Todi, within the medieval walls; you can walk to the main square of Todi (Piazza del Popolo) and admire the Palazzo Comunale complex, born from the union of the Palazzo del Popolo which houses the Lapidary Museum, the Civic Art Gallery and the Roman Etruscan Museum, the thirteenth century Palazzo del Capitano and the Palazzo dei Priori which dates back to the 14th century.
It overlooks Piazza Il Duomo, built in the 12th century on the ruins of a temple dedicated to the god Apollo, characterized by a long entrance staircase and a beautiful Romanesque facade. Not far from the square is the Church of San Fortunato, dedicated to the patron saint of the city and built in the 13th century, which preserves in the crypt the tomb of the humanist poet Jacopone da Todi.
Surely deserves a visit to the famous Tempio della Consolazione (in photo ), executed in the 16th century on a design by Bramante, with its beautiful dome, and which houses an ancient image of the Madonna on the inside, which, according to tradition, was miraculous.
